The Hot Dog Research Institute of America

Long before 1947, extraterrestrial researchers arrived on Earth while searching the galaxy for a promising food to study and perfect.

During their investigation, they encountered something unexpected:

The hot dog.

Fascinated by its simplicity, versatility, and cultural importance, the visitors studied the specimen more closely.

Eventually, they returned to their home planet with a human hot dog and spent years developing what they believed to be an enhanced version.

In the summer of 1947, they returned to Earth intending to present their creation to humanity as a peace offering.

Before the exchange could occur, their spacecraft crashed in the New Mexico desert.

The crew survived.

Government officials investigating the crash discovered the extraterrestrial visitors, their advanced technology, and the enhanced hot dog specimen they had brought with them.

Rather than reveal the discovery to the public, the two groups entered into a classified partnership.

The Hot Dog Research Institute of America—the HDRIA—was established.

For nearly eighty years, human scientists and extraterrestrial Glizzologists worked together in secrecy, conducting advanced research into hot dog construction, preparation, condiment engineering, bun dynamics, regional variations, and extraterrestrial food science.

The Official Center of Glizzology was later constructed at Area 51½ to serve as the HDRIA’s central headquarters and primary research facility.

Its existence remained classified.

Until now.

Following the declassification of selected Institute archives, a public Visitor Center has opened at the Official Center of Glizzology.

For the first time, civilians may access previously restricted research, review historical case files, participate in field studies, and join a worldwide community connected by a shared appreciation for the hot dog.

Many records remain sealed.

Several investigations are still active.

And the original extraterrestrial specimen has never been publicly displayed.

Welcome to the Hot Dog Research Institute of America.

Welcome to Area 51½.

Welcome to the Official Center of Glizzology.
